Cyberport has announced the launch of the "Cyberport Blockchain Support Portal" (CBSP) and is inviting local, mainland, and overseas organizations with a primary focus on technical development or ecosystem development of blockchain protocols to express their interest. This portal aims to foster the establishment of an ecological community for blockchain infrastructure in Hong Kong and Cyberport, and encouraging more real-life applications of Web3.0. By fostering more Web3.0 related business activities, it would also help to attract more Web3.0 talents to Hong Kong.
As Hong Kong's largest Web3.0 community, the CBSP is designed specifically for blockchain protocols and related infrastructure. , aiming to attract and support related entities of blockchain protocols from various regions to settle or expand their businesses in Hong Kong and Cyberport. For blockchain protocols that are actively expanding their communities and ecosystems and working closely with businesses and Web3.0 projects to develop applications that utilise their infrastructure, they may consider to provide suitable resources under CBSP. CBSP may offer various support, including access to parts of the Cyberport Web3.0 community and other partners, providing business matching opportunities for Cyberport startups and corporate partners to establish application use cases on blockchain infrastructure, supporting the deployment of more Web3.0 applications across various industries in Hong Kong.
The portal will focus, but not be limited to, the following areas:
1. Web3.0 Use Cases and Community Development: Facilitating communication and collaboration among participating blockchain infrastructures, industry stakeholders, and the Cyberport Web3.0 community to co-create collaborative Web3.0 projects. Interested blockchain infrastructures will provide suitable resources; CBSP may offer access to parts of the Cyberport Web3.0 community and other partners for business matching opportunities for Cyberport startups and corporate partners to establish application cases on blockchain infrastructure.
2. Business Expansion Support: Assisting participating blockchain infrastructures in understanding Hong Kong's business and regulatory environment and connecting with the local Web3.0 community to aid their market expansion in Hong Kong.
3. Education and Knowledge Sharing: Co-organising or supporting educational activities, conferences, and workshops, as well as connecting with research institutions and industry experts to enhance the knowledge of Web3.0 participants and educate interested individuals and groups on joining the Web3.0 field.
Cyberport is now inviting blockchain infrastructures to express their intention to join this portal.
Collaboration between Cyberport and Polkadot
Cyberport and Polkadot has collaborated under the Cyberport Blockchain Support Portal that aims to create a dedicated Polkadot Hub at the Cyberport Campus and collaborate on major Web3.0 industry events. Cyberport support Polkadot in providing essential ecosystem support, promoting growth and innovation.
The collaboration with Polkadot is through PolkaPort East, which is an entity tasked to drive investor relations and growth for the Polkadot ecosystem in Hong Kong supported by a grant from the Web3 Foundation. Polkaport East is part of the Cyberport Web3 Community and also joining the Cyberport Blockchain Support Portal.
Collaboration between Cyberport and Avalanche
Ava Labs is launching the Web3 Innovation Program as part of the Cyberport Blockchain Support Portal, for local start-ups and enterprises looking to explore, develop and launch real world use cases harnessing the Avalanche Blockchain portal.
Eligible start-ups and enterprises will have access to an innovation pool of HKD 1 million from The Avalanche Foundation, in addition to support from AvaCloud, the fully managed blockchain service from Ava Labs, alongside other valuable ecosystem support from both Cyberport and Avalanche.
